Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said: "This year, the transportation of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will amount to about 1.5 million tons. We estimate the prospects for increasing the volume of oil transportation through this pipeline to 20 million tons per year in the future," he said.

 

At a meeting held in Parliament on the development of the oil sector in the country, Satkaliyev pointed to the share of oil in the country's economy and noted that the oil and gas sector accounts for more than 28 percent of the state budget.

Satkaliyev said that this year it is planned to produce 88.4 million tons of oil, of which 68.8 million will be exported.

Referring to the pipelines through which oil will be transported this year, which will be sent abroad, Satkaliyev said that 55.4 million tons of oil will be shipped via the Caspian pipeline, 8.6 million tons via the Atyrau-Samara line, 1.1 million tons to China, and 3.6 million tons from the port of Aktau (Caspian Sea). Kazakh oil.

In addition, Satkaliyev said that 1.4 million tons of oil will be sent to Germany via the Druzhba oil pipeline this year.

Explaining that the development of alternative transport routes for oil exports is one of the strategic tasks for the Government of Kazakhstan, Satkaliyev said that they are working with the Kazakh national oil company KazMunaiGas on the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor through the Caspian Sea.

Satkaliyev said that they called the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline a "promising route" in the area and noted: "This year, the transportation of Kazakh oil through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline will amount to about 1.5 million tons. In the future, we plan to increase the volume of oil transportation through this pipeline to 20 million tons per year."

Minister Satkaliyev added that from 2026 it is planned to increase the annual oil production in the country to 100 million tons, and by 2035 to fully supply the country's domestic market with products such as gasoline, aviation and diesel fuel.
